Privacy

Last updated: June 2026

tl;dr — this site doesn’t track you. No analytics, no ads, no pixels, no fingerprinting. The rest of this page covers what little data does pass through and how to ask for it to go away.

What this site doesn’t do

  • No Google Analytics, Plausible, Fathom, or any other analytics
  • No advertising or retargeting trackers
  • No social-media pixels or beacons
  • No cross-site fingerprinting
  • No selling, sharing, or renting of data — there’s nothing to sell

What this site does collect

Server access logs

Like any web server, the host (o2switch, based in France) records each request: your IP address, the URL you visited, the time, your user agent, and the referrer if any. These exist for the server to operate and for debugging. They aren’t used to build a profile of you and are kept only as long as the host retains them by default.

Comments

If you leave a comment on a blog post, WordPress stores the name, email, and any URL you provide along with the comment text. The email isn’t shown publicly.

Cookies

A small number of functional cookies may be set: wordpress_* and wp-settings-* only if someone logs in (which is just me), and a comment-related cookie if you opt into “save my name and email.” No tracking cookies.

Third-party content embedded on the site

Some content is loaded from external services. When it loads, your browser contacts those services and they may log the request under their own policies:

  • GitHub — the contribution graph fetches data from github-contributions-api.jogruber.de and links go to github.com
  • HackTheBox — the profile badge image is loaded from hackthebox.eu
  • Google Fonts — fonts load from fonts.googleapis.com, which means Google sees the request

If you’d rather not have your browser contact these, a blocker like uBlock Origin handles it.

Your rights

If you’re in the EU, UK, or other regions with comparable laws, you have the right to ask what data is stored about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to processing, and complain to a supervisory authority. Given the site stores almost nothing, most requests come down to “delete my comment,” which I will.
